Last Day
Well we're taking it easy on this last full day here in Hawaii. We had a late lunch at the Yard House (Kona porter is a Filipino aphrodisiac by the way) and now we're resting up before dinner at Roy's.
I picked up a mascot earlier in the trip. I haven't named him yet, but I have taken some pictures with him starting at the Ueshima Coffee Coop south of Keauhou where we stayed on the Big Island. The first picture is out front of the coffee coop.

The second is out on the lava flows on the south shore of the island below Kilauea where the lava flows have closed the old road that used to continue north.

The third is out on the lanai at the Keauhou Sheraton during the big swells on the last couple days of our stay there.

The final one is on the lanai of the Sheraton Waikiki looking out towards Diamond Head.

Aloha!

Well we made it. Woohoo! We landed at Kona at around 1AM PST time. 11PM Hawaiian time. The first thing both Mrs. LK and I both said was, "Stairs"? Yeah, Kona isn't what you'd call a large international airport. Think Burbank and then scale it back a lot. So we left our prime 1st class seats and exited the plane via the "stairs", hehe, and made our way across the tarmac to the terminal. When I say terminal I mean grass hut. Just kidding. Kona does have a low key airport though and that's a nice thing. We finally got our bags about a half hour later and then headed for the cab line. No waiting. :) Hopped in the cab and 20 minutes and $40 later we arrived at the Sheraton Keauhou on the beautiful west coast of the Big Island. The picture is from one of our two lanais. More to come. Aloha everyone. Ahhhhh, I can feel the relaxation soaking in already. Sweet.
