Customer Dis-Service

So while surfing today I stumbled on this story. Long story short the guy preordered some stuff. When he went to pick it up they were out of stock. He requested a substitution and had a heck of a time getting the employees to understand what he wanted. In the end he got what he wanted with a receipt. Read between the lines. Turns out he was given the log that was going to be kept on his transaction instead of his receipt.

Ori-what-a, It's A Freakin' CD Holder

Sometimes you just don't feel like crossing the room to get a jewel case. It's just easier to reach for a sheet of paper.

Folding is a four letter word with ing added on.

Here are some other slightly more difficult ones. Not quite so suited for CDs either.

I've Got This Bridge ...

I saw this and figured I'd see how phishing savvy I was. I ended up scoring 9 out of 10 as I missed the Bank of America scenario. Try it and see just good you are.

Hot Diggity Dug

So you've always wanted to know where you would come out if you dug a hole from your house to the other side of the planet right?

You haven't?

Well I hadn't really either, but now it's a snap to find out anyway. Zoom in to your location, click and zoom out to see where you would end up.

Here's mine:

Maybe I'll learn to breathe underwater first.

If I Were A Girl

You're Leggy Bettie...you may be tall or short but
either way you seem to make the guys swoon and
the girls jealous and girls think of you as a
"slut" or "bitch". Again,
you're beautiful, they're not...right?

When Good Xmas Lights Go Bad

Click on the picture above to see a wild display of Xmas Light Cheer. Checking on Snopes shows that it's not confirmable one way or another if this is real or not. Regardless it's a fun video to watch.

Pwned

Unless you're a gaming dork like I am then you most likely won't get what's in the movies in the following link. However, if you are and you haven't seen these Canadian goofballs yet then I would suggest checking them out. Some of the episodes can be a little slow in places, but overall it's pretty amusing. They run the gamut of RTS to FPS to MMORPG. Chiggity check it. If I had to pick one episode I'd probably go with episode 6, although episode 3 is pretty good too. The first episode is a good intro too, as it should be. The episode links above are just short clips. All the full episodes are here. Go watch it you noobs.

Ground Control To Major Tom

Launch Update

Spaceway F2, a Boeing 702 satellite built by the Boeing Satellite Development Center for DIRECTV Inc., was successfully launched Wednesday from Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana. Spaceway F2 and another SDC-built satellite launched in April will support a capacity expansion for DIRECTV, allowing it to deliver more than 1,500 local and 150 national high-definition channels to dozens of the largest U.S. markets by 2007.

What Goes Up, Better Damn Well Stay Up

NEW UDATE: 15-NOV-2005, 4:54 PM -
The launch of Spaceway F2, a Boeing 702 satellite built for DIRECTV, Inc., from Kourou, French Guiana, has been rescheduled. It will be broadcast live Wednesday, Nov. 16. The launch window extends from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific time.
The launch will be broadcast live on IPTV . Subscribers to DIRECTV can watch on channel 399.

UPDATE: 3:43PM PST - The launch has been postponed due to a "problem encountered during final preparations".

So at 3:45PM PST today the Boeing built Spaceway satellite is scheduled to launch. It will be the latest of the Boeing 702 family to take up residence in earth's orbit. The image below is a what the sucker looks like. The reason I bring it up is that they will be broadcasting the launch on DirecTV channel 399 as well as on the Ariane Space website and watching a rocket launch is cool.

Custom Furniture

The Chinese Jet Pilot's brother is in the custom fine carpentry business. I've seen some of his other stuff in person. Stuff that he just "knocked out" on a whim. If what I saw was a whim I don't know if I could handle a project he put some thought and effort into. Definitely some cool stuff here. If you're looking for some quality custom work definitely consider this.
