Definitely Not Good At This
Well I have never been good at asking for help. Even when I know I need it there is something inside me that just doesn't like to "bother" other people with my problems. This goes for my work as well as my personal life. It's something I need to work on, but that's for later.
The real intent of this post is to ask for help for someone else though. I realize that my readership here is quite small (thank you all of you who do stop by, even those of you who don't comment) and that what I'm doing today won't reach that far. However, if it reaches even one little bit further then that is enough.
Some friends of mine who I have known since junior high are going to be doing the Light the Night Walk to help raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There are a couple of reasons I'm bringing this up. The first is that their son Christopher was diagnosed with Leukemia about three months ago and is currently going through treatment. A great little trouble maker if there ever was one and he and all the others that are or will be suffering from this need our help. The second is that my grandfather was struck down by this killer back in 1975. So I figured now was a good time to ask for a little help. Here's the link for Christopher's donation site.
I realize it may be a tough time for some of you to give a bit what with Katrina and all. Imelda and I have both given for that as well. If you could find a little extra to put forth for this it would be most appreciated. Imelda and I busted the first goal that he set so they bumped it up. Please help to bust their new goal as well.
Thanks,
~lk
UPDATE: 24-SEP-2005 Well the progress made towards busting Christopher's goals has been awesome. It started at $1000, which we plowed right through. It then was raised to $2000 and while that took a bit longer it too is now left in the dust. $2500 was the new goal and after taking about a day off to update that level was also met and exceeded. This is awesome. To any and all of you that have donated 'Thank you so much!'. The response has been outstanding. There is still about 2 weeks to go before the walk, which Imelda and I are flying back to the Bay Area to take part in, so even though the goal has been met please feel free to add to it.
Note: This post has been postdated so that it stays at the top. Please look below this post for new posts. kthx

Christopher is a cutey-pie! The Toth family is happy to help out - thanks for not being afraid to ask!! That's awesome that you guys are doing the walk. You and your wifey have some of the biggest hearts on the planet. I hope you can raise lots of $$ for this very worthy cause.
Thank you Mrs. Toth and thank you to the Toth family. Your support is so appreciated.
