Garrrrr!

Sailing, sailing over the bounding main.

Yup, that's right you land lubbers I went sailing today out of Long Beach. We didn't go out for a long trip, but it was enjoyable still. We had wind on the way out, but it died once we got out toward the break wall. Still I learned, well learned is not quite it. I was shown how to tack and I did it, but I wouldn't want to have to do it on my own. Next time though. We went out on a coworkers boat. Twentyeight foot, single mast boat. Broken in, but not broken. I'm looking forward to going again.

For all that has been said of the love that certain natures (on shore) have professed for it, for all the celebrations it has been the object of in prose and song, the sea has never been friendly to man. At most it has been the accomplice of human restlessness.
